Boys will be boys. After the uncertainty of living among them for so long what was normality is strangely abnormal. Less action, more about adjusting to a different life and trusting strangers.

Another very solid volume, Life Among Them sees the group find what seems to be the safety they have sought since volume 1. Of course, it could never be that simple and the introduction of new characters and a new setting marks a major turning point for the story.

The air of suspense that carries through the whole book is very strong. I constantly felt like something bad was about to happen. Now I need to hurry to the next book to see what it will be.

Getting some dystopic vibes from this volume, what with them finding what seems to be as perfect a society as anyone could hope to build in a world full of zombies. I'm really hoping that there does turn out to be something wrong going on, and that Rick isn't just going to screw everything up by being super paranoid. The cliffhanger ending at the end of this does make me think he might just do that...

Ça fait du bien, un plus calme, avec un peu d'espoir après tout ce qu'ils ont enduré.

Eugene gets busted...with surprisingly little fallout.
The gang arrives in Alexandria and realises that they are now the wolves among the sheep. How the heck the people in Alexandria have survived to this point is a complete mystery. Oh well. Rick & Co. have arrived to shake things up.
Carl has the right of it though; spending too long with these people will rub the edges off them quick, and make it harder survive when they need those skills the most.

The prose is still way too heavy-handed, but ah well, it's a good story.
