Jim Eldridge has actually written twelve books in the My Story series, but this is so far his only one with a female protagonist. Perhaps, it's just me, but I don't think Jim was able to really capture the spirit of a teenage girl. However, that's not the only problem with the book. It isn't told in diary format, unfortunately. It also moves incredibly fast during the parts I want to read about and slow in the parts I could care less about.

The premise of a young girl joining the SOE seems ridiculous [though, I guess, it could've happened] that sometimes I found it hard to concentrate on reading. I will concede that some of the spying was interesting and suspenseful.
It was a bit depressing that Violet just came into that French family's life and ruined it on accident. Oops.
And finally, the ending was a bit lackluster.
