A not-totally-realistic but nonetheless entertaining adventure into the depths. It read a lot like a D&D adventure into the Underdark - don't worry too much about how it's all meant to work, just sit back and enjoy the journey.
Graphic: Confinement and Abandonment
Moderate: Suicidal thoughts and Injury/Injury detail
Minor: Sexism
Period-typical sexism in the protagonist's stereotypes of women ("emotional", "impossible to understand", etc). The protagonist faces all the fears you could imagine underground: the risks of getting lost, trapped, separated from his companions, left without light, etc. But don't worry, it all ends happily.

My original instinct would be to give this a 3 star rating but in comparison to my other three stars it just doesn't compare. This is a classic novel that everybody knows and I figured it was time I give it a read. And to be honest I found it bearable only in audiobook form while buissing myself with other things as well. That being said it's entertaining enough. Don't think everyone needs to read it though.
Minor: Racism and Sexism
