This book is the first book in the series that personally I wouldn't classify as "lighthearted" and I'd be just as hesitant to call a cosy read. While the regular flow of the story continues, with it's expected chaotic humor, loveable weird characters, adventures and all other aspects from this series, some elements in this book cast a darker shadow over it, which made it less enjoyable for me.
For those who read the Magical Midlife Flowers and Magical Midlife Battle, it'll be no surprise that in this book, Jessie is going toconfront her toxic, abusive ex-husband . For people who are sensitive to these topics, it's worth considering the Content Warnings more seriously as they are warranted, because Jessie relives some of these memories and experiences some of them first hand again too, both from him and his family, before she's able to overcome them and that part of her life , which can be stressful.
On top of that, as mentioned in other reviewsthe uncertainty surrounding Sebastian and Nessa's plans, their described as being torn, hurting and sad over the necessity of said plans as it is likely to negatively effect or even sacrifice Jessie and/or some of her crew gives this book - and the books still to come - a darker edge still.
It was still ok, if you've enjoyed the previous books and you're not sensitive to the topics mentioned in the Content Warnings (that weren't present in the previous books(, then this is probably yet another great instalment of the series. For me personally, it was a bit if a mixed blessing for these reasons.

Graphic: Domestic abuse and Toxic relationship
Minor: Sexual harassment

and the Hilarity continues
A nice step back after the intensity of the previous book’s battle, MMA gives us a true look into Jessie’s past. Seeing her growth and how she truly breaks out of the restraints of her past is heartwarming. And there is no shortness of laughs with her crazy crew. I absolutely cannot wait for the next book!

I’m obsessed with this series, these books are engaging and exciting but also so funny I really do laugh out loud. This one lived up to my previously established expectations. I can’t wait for more!!!

There wasn't a ton going on in this one, except Jessie stepping more fully into her power and some jackass men being put in their place. Jessie's crew at the party was hilarious and awesome, getting to know Autin's niece better, and allowing Mr. Tom his moment to shine were highlights. This book felt like a lot of setup for whatever's coming next...
