Jammer. Hopelijk is een volgende roman beter..?

I thoroughly enjoyed this - a really quirky but refreshing book. We follow an uninspired Parisian writer as he vows to write about the next person he meets on the street. He soon meets an elderly lady and agrees to also write about her family
This is all told from the lens of the author, whose name isnt revealed. I liked his self depreciating humour, and while I question his ethics I really enjoying getting to meet a seemingly normal family and watching them blossom.
A charming and unusual read, with some beautiful reflections on adolescence to old age and everything in-between.
I also really liked the little footnotes and authors notes to self. All very much had the feeling of breaking the third wall.

Top !
