The characters weren't developed very well, and the situations they found themselves in were a little too extreme and contrived. I'm having trouble getting into this series.

Good intentions and some clumsy execution on this one, refreshing to have a non-British heroine, but the exoticization got old.

Reread after a long time and wow this is terrible. Fetishizing the “exotic Hindu” and if i heard “Hindu nature” one more time I’d lose it. Seriously gross.

As noted previously, I got a five-book bundle for this series, and went through them pretty easily because of it. This one was interesting due to Lady Kiri's perfumery and her olfactory abilities, which are certainly unique amongst probably all books I've read (romance or not). I enjoyed the adventures, even as I realize these were quite ridiculous when compared to what would've been possible. Fun read, rated R for sexual content.

This book started off with lots of promise. I liked the heroine in the beginning, along with the hero. But by the time she was asked to help do something important, it became too much. This was a modern-era woman set in Regency times. Too hard to swallow. It's too bad because I enjoyed the first two books and looked forward to reading the entire series. Now I'm not so sure. I will try Mary's earlier books since readers do highly recommend them.

I love the Lost Lords series! I also love a strong heroine and an irredeemable rogue who's redeem :) Ms. Putney delivers again. Can't wait for the next Lord book!

This review sums up my reading experience: http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/210267915
"4.5 stars. This is what Regency romance should be. It doesn't do anything particularly exciting or new with the genre, but what it does is traditional historical romance extremely, extremely well.
... I'd rather a romance heroine be too kickass than not kickass enough, so I can't complain too much."
Yup. The heroine was just a little too perfect/modern woman-ish, but I'd rather have that than the reverse. Consequently, I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

Such a charming epilogue!
I do wish this author would learn that female is an adjective and woman is the noun she should be using. So grating.

This was a really great book and I love that I found it at the grocery store and bought it on a whim. The story was creative and not your average historical, I love the strong heroine and roguish hero who really isn't a rogue. I will be getting more of Mary Jo Putney's books.
