I loved it. I've been finding many books on this theme, but the pacing and diction are great. The illustrations are also wonderful. My six year old didn't notice and tends to gravitate towards more action and shorter impulse control books. But I liked it and despite the plethora of similar books, this one stood out. I liked the familiar welcome back to school story and each unique kid.

A great book about accepting everyone and being accepted even when people are different. The pictures are simple, with bright bold colors. The sentences are short and allow for lots of discussion about what the children in the pictures are doing. This would be great for preschool or kindergarten storytime about starting school or about acceptance.

I liked this book! A book about inclusion. I will be adding this to my list of books for teaching.

I appreciate the sentiment, but little else. The text was nothing special. The art had good representation. But there really was no story to this. And there was too much distance on the kids in the school to turn this into more. Following less of the kids and more closely would probably have worked better for me. So not a bad book, just not one I liked all that much.
