A short read but a good one! Boy suffering about his identity, and another one who seems to be bullied a lot. They find each other and help each other with their problems. Great story, loveable characters. Will read the next in the series.

Marketing is comparing this series to Heartstopper which is true, to a point. This is a graphic novel series about two boys falling in love and exploring their sexuality. But Heartstopper is wholesome af.
Breaks is the grungey Tumblr flip-side in a manga style. Which - don't get me wrong - I enjoyed. But be prepared for trauma-driven angst while having your heartstrings pulled.

Great coming of age story. It's dark in places, there's abuse, bodily harm, non-con (kiss), cheating. Some of the art is sketchy and hard to make out on the brown background but then you get the most glorious panels (normally Cort's face) and it makes up for everything.
And the end of this volume asks more questions than it answers.
Luckily I have volume 2 waiting for me on my bookshelf.
