It was okay. I think this might be my last of this series for a while. It’s getting a little repetitive, especially when I am consuming them fairly quickly. Not enough of the juicy stuff regarding things like Ella’s love life/dad/etc per book.

I call this popcorn reading. Not much substance to the books. Somewhat shabbily written and certainly shabbily edited. Lots of errors. I think this author could write a really great thriller if they spent more time with each book. It seems as if they rather prolific which means there isn’t much substance to the books. It’d be great if they could spend a little more time with each book and catch errors in plot. But I like the characters enough to keep reading.

If it weren't for the story being written so well with a great plot, I would've given this a 1/2. Ella is becoming completely unrealistic and annoying. You're really telling me she's fully conversating and taking advice from a serial killer and no one knows about it. What kills me about her in general is that she's doing all this because she truly beleives there is no one on this earth that can out think her or is smarter than her which is what will be her downfall. She think's she can keep up with a notorious serial killer, insane. And keeping it from Mia is just extremely distrustful, would I want to continue to work with her after that? No. Just wild. And what's crazy is, none of it is needed. She acts like it's the end of the world if they don't catch the killers not understanding that you will never catch them all.

So glad I kept the reading this series, the pieces of the larger puzzle really start coming together in this book.
The case itself was interesting and kept me wanting to read more and the connections and learning into Ella’s life had be but the next book ASAP
