I would give this book SEVENTEEN STARS IF I COULD.
I absolutely loved it. I haven't cried this hard at a book for a while, both from sadness and happiness.
Is it lame that I didn't cry over a twin but I bawled over a cat?
Also, I LOVE GEORGE COOPER. AND CORAM. AND THAYET. Everyone is awesome.
Off to mop up my tears now, and order the first book of the Immortals series.

[3.5 Stars] I don't think I enjoyed this one quite as much as the last. It was wonderful read, but there is something about it that I just didn't fall in love with and I can't quite put my finger on why. All in all, however, this is a fantastic series though it could use a little more depth.

Welp, this was my favorite of the four. It made me cry and it felt like everything Alannah had been through was building to this. I feel like each book has improved upon the last and watching Alannah grow from the impetuous, fiesty girl we met in the beginning of The First Adventure into the Lady-Knight we see in Lioness Rampant was truly a delight.
There are so many things that happened in these books that made me feel seen. There are several lessons that Alannah had to learn that I had to struggle through in my life and I wish someone had told me to read these books when I was younger and that I had listened to the one person who did. (I'm sorry, Althea!) A part of me wishes this story wasn't over, but I'm happy with the conclusion and I'm glad I went on this journey with Alannah.

My main issue (other than the tropiness, but this book is old enough it’s cool I guess), is that Alanna couldn’t choose her partner until other potential partners were off the table.
