Is it any wonder I fell in love with these books years ago? Even now they are still exciting as ever. Plus, they make me smile. Love these.

Still not my favorite in the series, but I enjoyed it more than I did the last time I read it.

Sugary-sweet conclusion to a fun series

A satisfying conclusion, I'd say. Overall I'm really impressed and profoundly wish I'd read them when I hit puberty. Real lessons in setting goals, making friends, staying true to yourself. And all while being one of the most sex-positive books I've ever read! It's the good stuff.

I liked how it ended, I think the conclusion allowed for all things to be resolved without any resentment on part of any characters.

A satisfying conclusion. I can tell that this was originally supposed to be one long book, instead of four shorter ones, because this one is definitely the BIG ENDING that we've all seen coming. Side characters from book 1 return! There's a final showdown with every baddie EVER! Everyone gets married at the end! Hooray!

I never noticed before how the pieces fit together.
The quartet is really 2 pairs,
the first pair both end with the Reveal due to the enemy
the second pair center around the jewel in the sword she finds.
each pair ends with a fight with Roger.

I can't wait to discuss this series with my friends who are finally reading it for the first time!

I'm so in love with this whole series. Alanna is about as badass at they come, and this last book doesn't disappoint. It's been wonderful watching her grown and mature, and it all comes together in this book. She's not just an accomplished knight, she's an accomplished woman, and an accomplished person. Even the way this series deals with sex and relationships is brilliant. It's very straight-forward, without taking over the story or being too graphic. Although this book does have a bit of a love triangle, it doesn't feel like she's been destined for one person through the whole series, and it doesn't feel like she has to pick between two or three suitors. It just feels...natural.
