Although I feel like I've been watching SK movies my whole life, this is just my 3rd SK novel I've read. I enjoyed the pace and mystery of the first half of the book and then it got a little clunky for me towards the end. I read this has been made into a series and I would be interested in seeing how this is adapted.

One of my favorites. King hits it out of the park with Holly Gibney!

I really enjoyed this book. It was pretty long, but I think necessarily long to build the story. The characters felt very real, and the villain was scary enough that I was actually kind of scared. It does have some child-directed sexual violence, but on the periphery. As in, it feels impersonal because you don’t know the children involved. It absolutely helps to have read the Mr. Mercedes series prior to this, but not necessarily a deal breaker - it would just help with some references.
