DNF at 49%

Aaand another DNF… It was just so boring and after 49% the story just didn’t progress. It’s also a friends-to-lovers, which I knew, but it’s my least favorite trope. So sadly a dnf for me :(

I give this book a 2.5 ⭐ because it's not the best book I've ever read. This is my first 2 ⭐ rating. The reason why is: it took me 5 long months to finish it... The book wasn't horrible, at times it was boring. It's an okay read but I would most likely never read it again. Will I continue on the series? Maybe..

This was cute enough but it definitely wasn’t a Christmas book. I also thought I’d get more oomph in the ending but it was pretty lack luster.

Such a cute holiday romcom!! This is a childhood friends to lovers actually!! With a small healing journey, the only reason I didn’t give it a 5 star is due to the fact that it’s longer then it should be but also we get to see found family aspect so I really loved that!

Think Hallmark Movie with an increased spice rating. This book is about two best friends who reunite around the holidays after years apart. Noel lost her family when she was a teenager and was taken in by Nick’s family. When Nick ends his army career he returns home, only for his long time girlfriend to dump him. So Nick and Noel have an impromptu plan: fake date each other so their exes will be jealous. It's fake-dating, friends to lovers, and Christmas romance. The story was enjoyable and I'll be reading the next one.

** 3.5 / 5 stars

I thought this was really cute for a Christmas/festive read!!

I dooo have just a widdle problem with the dialogues because i thought they were a bit stilted & also some of the words used or phrases said gave over very 2010s millennial vibes. But like in a good way. Tad cringey for me but I still thought it was sweet ❤️

A perfect sugary Christmas read with a little spice thrown in for good measure. (The spice has a fair amount of detail but there is not a lot of spicy scenes. I had a hard time deciding if this should be a 2 star or 3 star spicy book.) The characters were fun to learn about and the romance was between two lifelong friends. You're definitely rooting for them to figure it out. They are sweet and warm and lovely. I'm looking forward to moving on to the next book in the series.
