A cheesy christmas romantic comedy like the Hallmark movies but much hornier.

Nick is back after his second tour in the military and he's back to stay. His best friend Noel is there to pick him up from the airport. His homecoming doesn't entirely go as he expected. Newly single and confronted with the fact she's already moving on Noel takes some actions on a night out that will change their friendship forever.

Noel does have a bit of a "not like other girls" streak but other than that it is fun and their chemistry is pretty solid.

Nick & Noel were both such well rounded characters & their relationship is so cute. When I started this book, I wasn't sure about it, it seemed to have some stuff that was out of place but then after getting to know the characters better, everything felt better placed. It was the perfect amount of Christmas, romance & spice! Can't wait to read the rest of them!

Like a Hallmark Christmas movie in book form (we’ll, with slightly more spice).

I quite enjoyed this book, very Christmas-y indeed. There were quite a few parts where Nick had been rather intimate with Noel (even when he was still with Amber) which I found was unusual since he was already taken so I was uneasy when those parts came up. I really liked all the song and show/movie references which was a nice touch although I have no clue what those songs were but I get more recommendations!! I have spotted quite a few grammar mistakes which annoyed me a lot. There were quite a few mordern references like Tiktok, which I did not particularly like only when it was randomly thrown in when it didn't make sense to be there, but I quite liked it when it had the right context, like how Nick and Noel will send each other songs on Spotify, which I found really cute. This book was really funny, I really loved and adored the characters and the character development was really nice to see. Some of their makeout sessions were a bit random but I didn't really mind. I was quite amused by brand knockoffs when the author changes the name of the brands because of copyright since the sames were really out there. I really liked how Noel's granny underwear really had Grannies on them, which was hilarious!! I really liked that there was a playlist at the end of the book so that I can go ahead and listen to those songs :) Also Amber's quite an ass and I'm glad she changed!

“Losing the people she loved was her biggest fear. Yet, she knew at times, she pushed them away. She should have been better to Gabby. But she was too caught up in her own grief at the time.”

Oh dear, this book was such a mess 🙈 I had some hopes for this series, especially as I had an Arc for the second book, but Nick & Noel's Christmas Playlist was a chore to get through. The story is about Nick who is coming back from military service and his best friend Noel, who is basically part of his family as they are so close. I was expecting a cute, festive friends-to-lovers romance, but I didn't like any of the characters or dynamics in this book!

Noel gives off huge 'Not Like Other Girls' vibes and spends the entire book fighting Nick's ex. Please let us leave these tropes behind, they are SO tiring! Noel makes a point of setting herself apart from other women and how she's 'one of the guys', especially as she only has one female friend (Gabby). It was clear that she saw herself as better than Nick's ex and their immature fighting was so embarrassing for two grown women. Noel couldn't control herself (even resorting to physically attacking Nick's ex at one point) and the entire girl-on-girl (or rather woman-on-woman) hate was just because of their relationship with Nick 🙃

The romance wasn't my cup of tea at all. I like friends-to-lovers romances when they are done well and this wasn't the case here! Nick and Noel didn't have any chemistry and their getting together felt so forced and sudden that I didn't get to root for them at all. Add to that the drama of Nick's ex and Noel's own dalliances and they got on my nerves.
