this typical fast paced James Patterson is one of the Mark Bennett series. A serial kidnapper/killer with a social conscience is on the loose. NYPD detective Mark Bennett and FBI agent Parker track him down. A formula book with an interesting action, but no suprises.

Another great book in the MB series. If I could give it a 4.5stars, I would because, so far, this is my fave one in the series. The psycho and plot were sooo much more interesting and suspenseful than the previous one. I also love Mike's family!!! Definitely some interesting developments there too. It was funny too seeing Mike start to move on - liked the Emily Parker character ALOT!!! Can't wait to read the next installment to see what kind of madness and mayhem Mike and his clan find themselves into.

I used to enjoy a Patterson novel, but I'm finding the constant tension to be a little boring as it repeats itself.

While it wasn't my favorite book of all time, Worst Case was a decent enough read (or, in my case, listen). Michael Bennett is totally believable as a character, and I wouldn't mind reading more books in this series.

I liked the first two better, but still a good quick read.

I was pleasantly surprised by this, based on the last few of the newer Patterson books I’ve read. I enjoyed the first Michael Bennett novel, Step on a Crack, but found the manufactured emotion around his wife’s death to be so horribly schmaltzy that I almost gave up on the series. I didn’t read the second book, but you can enjoy this third book without reading either of the other two (though it does help to know why Bennett has 10 kids). Like many of Patterson’s villains, Francis X. Mooney is more than a little crazy, and his unpredictability adds the appropriate amount of suspense to the storyline. I liked the addition of FBI agent Emily Parker, and hope we haven’t seen the last of her. Patterson is still no longer a must-read author for me, but this novel gives me hope.
