I have watched a few documentaries and different shows about the Dyatlov Pass incident, some filmed more recently than this books publication date and I still learned so many new things reading this book. This book includes different interviews and facts that other accounts do not. Still such an eerie event in history that is so intriguing!

If you are into outdoor adventure non fiction this is for you. A balance of history of this tragic accident and some social and historical insight into Russia during the 50's.

Found it well paced and went between going back into history and present day as the author is conducting their research it gives insight into the difficulty and utter mystery of this event.

If you enjoy winter adventures this might make you think twice....and maybe a stark reminder of the perils of winter conditions. Especially in Russia (Mostly said with some tongue in cheek).

The book is supposed to be about the Dyatlov Incident, but at least half of the book is actually just about the author researching the event. It's well written, but I would've prefered a book that isn't focused on the author who's just an unrelated American interested in the incident for unknown reasons or just because.
