Didn’t want this to end.
I have so much more I want to know about this world, the gifts, and I would loooove some backstory history of it and with several characters!!
What happens with Ophie especially? Even Raoul(not gonna lie, he was an unapologetic pig, but I liked him in this book).
I really want to know more about Lady Bryren and Reidin, I feel like he especially could’ve been fleshed out a bit extra and I would’ve welcomed it!
Damien’s struggles in this book were so well developed. I really love how the author had him and Selene play off each other, grow together, bolster each other.
The author had hinted at good fighting scenes and this book definitely delivered!
I finally decided the series in general has an almost King Arthur/Kingdom of Heaven/Kevin Costner Robin Hood feel and I loved that for so many reasons.
One of the things I liked about this whole series is that communication was so open. Maybe it did feel a little unrealistic in some spots, but that Selene tried so hard to not let things fester and decided not to let the opportunities to speak up go by really got me.
As someone who struggles with saying everything I should/want to say sometimes, then especially in some books the miscommunication is actually part of the plot, that this didn’t have that issue was refreshing!
The value of life and “SEEK and ye shall FIND” is strong in this series. There were so reminders throughout the books that I really needed. This book gave me all the feels and goosebumps,
the Light does shine through.

I adored the first two books in this trilogy and read them each in one sitting. Sadly, I was less happy with this third and final installment. It was still a good read, but fell slightly short of great for me. I feel like it would have made an excellent movie and then I wouldn't have been so confused about who was fighting who and where they were doing it.
I received an advance reader copy of this book from NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

This book went in a different direction than I expected, but I still really enjoyed it. I would have liked more scenes with Selene and Damien together. The series wraps up nicely with this book.

Oh man, it’s so hard to review this because the plot and magic are great, but the amount of evangelizing about the Light made me uncomfortable. It felt very Christian and preachy.
