Description:
Teenager Usagi is not the best athlete, she's never gotten good grades, and, well, she's a bit of a crybaby. But when she meets a talking cat, she begins a journey that will teach her she has a well of great strength just beneath the surface and the heart to inspire and stand up for her friends as Sailor Moon!
My Thoughts:
This was great. I love sailor moon and this was just what i wanted. I can't wait to read more volumes. :)

After watching the first season of the 90s anime, I was feeling pretty "yeah, it's cute" about it, but not really getting the why of it's popularity. I had a decent time, for sure, so I wanted to check out the manga as well. And... this is definitely clicking with me waaay more.
The art is so stunning! Like the anime was pretty, but the manga?? Different level entirely. I also feel like the pacing works overall better as well. I like having smaller character moments with all the girls, but a flaw with the anime, in my opinion, is the repetitive nature. I understand why it happened that way, they had to give time to the mangaka to release more chapters, doesn't mean I have to like it though.
I also feel like Usagi is so much more endearing here. She still has that crybaby attitude, but we see her inner struggle with not having a cool and helpful power, like the other girls, her stress with Tuxedo Mask, and her desire to help people. I just like her significantly more here.
And then there's the romance, which is... much more heart pounding in the manga. Maybe it's the art, and the way they both gaze at each other, but regardless, it makes my heart feel all aflutter.
So I'm definitely having a good time, can't wait to read the next!
