I just don't like Cornwell's writing that much. The story was incredibly disjointed for me. The characters don't interest me...

Not too bad, better than the previous book in the Hammer/West/Brazil series but not as good as her Scarpetta series although found it quite amusing in parts and really enjoyed the character of Weed. Probably wouldn't read it again though.

Book #54 read in 2012
This was a tough one to get through. While I love Patricia Cornwell, this series is just not good. It's hard to like characters, the plot is disjointed and strange, and there's no one I wanted to root for. I'm done with this series. I'll stick to Scarpetta.

better than the first in the series but not enough for me to read anymore of them. Just was not my cup of tea, so to speak.

One more Andy Brazil novel that ends abruptly. I didn't like the part with Bubba's story and skimmed it. The pet characters in the novel, Niles, Popeye, and Half Shell are the most enjoyable part though.

pedestrian. perfectly alright for a long airport layover, which is where I read it, but weak on plot, plausibility and characters.
