A useful and complete identification guide aimed at amateurs and professionals alike. The illustrations are accurate and easy to refer to and show the variations in colouring between males, females and juveniles. The explainations and advice given in the introduction is particularly useful for beginners and is a useful reminder to more experienced ornithologists. My only critique is the size of the book as it makes it a little awkward and heavy for a day out in the field (admittedly this can't really be helped) but otherwise a very useful guide.

THE bible for birdwatching in Europe. No other field guide compares.

Easily the best bird guide I ever used, somewhat expensive but is worth every euro. Illustrations are really true to life, and all the details and info is so accurate and nicely organized
