Another very enjoyable work of speculative fiction from Katie Williams! It's hard to say whether it's a novel or a series of connected short stories (something I love, a la [b:Not the End of the World|28943|Not the End of the World|Kate Atkinson|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1429503869l/28943._SY75_.jpg|1792741]). Interesting premise, vivid characters.

Loved the premise and the first half, but the second half just kinda went off the rails -- dropped some intriguing plots and picked up some other interesting ones, which also got dropped. Then it just kind of .... ended.

More like 3.5... The writing really grabbed me and it felt like I would blink and ten pages went by. But also the ending was kind of lackluster.

Interesting. I think I liked this but I'm not sure. If chapter 2 was a short story on its own it would have got 5 stars.

Very intriguing premise. All the characters are compelling. But it feels like we just don't get enough. Too many of the threads just abruptly end. There's no real conclusion or closure. Still an interesting and thought provoking read.

It was an okay read. I really didn't "get" the plot of the story to be honest. There were a few sprinkles of thought-provoking and interesting ideas.

I don't want to write any spoilers here but my take is that the characters created were pretty awesome, but the "story" wasn't there for me.
