if i were akasha, and i had only marius de pedophile for company for the last two thousand years? i, too, would try to kill all the world's men the moment i woke up. in fact, i think i would be Worse.

My favorite parts of the book were the parts with Armand (but he's my favorite so I am a bit bias), but overall it was an okay book. I don't particularly care for Marius and I find the characters around him to be more interesting.

As with every book in the chronicles, more questions are answered. Now we have been introduced to a new character, a new ancient vampire and now I want to read more about him. The story of Marius of course is now complete and it is wonderful and yet bittersweet. I must say that this book of the chronicles goes up in the list of my favorites, along with the vampire Lestat and queen of the damned.

A lot of this one is just, like, recaps of what happened in other books from other characters' perspectives already from the perspective of an unpleasant asshole plus about 350 pages of describing paintings and moping, but I want to read them in order on principle, so here we are.

Well that's hilarious. We learn absolutely nothing new in this 700+ pages books. It's Marius' life with his perspective, aka 80% of it was already told in Lestat the Vampire, Queen of the Dammed and Armand the Vampire. I get why people that read it we're pissed! Having read these mentioned book about 10 years ago it was a great refresh for me. I liked returning to this world and remembering its events.

Now, how to describe it other then saying this : it is an Anne Rice book, which means, it's totally overdramatic and flowery. I love it.
