I randomly grabbed this on a book haul day. I had no information and I wasn't sure what to expect from it. You find out Makoto's preferred interests or...tastes not long after you start. I was worried at first but I actually enjoyed it. It is horror (mostly body horror and gore) with a few mature scenes. Honestly, I didn't realize this would be funny? I commend the creator's unique ability to dance (very gracefully, I might add) along the very thin wire where there is room to be funny in this genre and, on top of that, doing so in such a niche window; I would go so far as to say thriving in it! This series looks to be so unique in not only content but art style as well. I already have the second one on it's way which I've heard is more story focused. I look forward to learning more about this world.

MadK starts off slowly, borderline annoyingly so, yet it quickly picks up. There are no good people in this story, where you don't particularly want to 'root' for any character yet the story seemingly forces you to do so. No heroes, just sick creatures doing sick things. I appreciate an ero-guro book without the author romanticizing the characters nor their actions.
The only somewhat redeemable character is tortured by Makoto in their dying days and the other is K, J's older brother, whom is also killed by Makoto.
It's depressing but that's what I'm reading it for. The art can be difficult to follow therefore requiring to really pay attention to not only the stunning work of art of this but consequently to fully comprehend the horrors that happen.

It is so disturbing and horrifying. I love the art and the writing, will continue while compromising my eyes to whatever disturbing things I see next 😅
