I hate the daughter versus step mom trope. And also not into the major gaslighting it was too stressful for me

All the characters were terrible. The husband was toxic and full of red flags. The step daughter very clearly psycho and shouldn't be around babies. The MFC just had no backbone from even her mentionings of the red flags before she married her husband. I just couldn't listen anymore

The characters were gaslighting ME. The moral of the story is, trust your gut.

Rather standard mystery where the women are enemies vying for the man’s attention.  Some nice twists, but it wasn’t anything I haven’t read before.  It was just fine.  3 stars

I read this book in one day because I simply could not put it down! From the very first page I was intrigued and on edge. The author did an amazing job of immersing you in the story— I felt the anxiety, fear and suspense that the main character felt the entire time! In the first half I felt frustrated with the characters and how predictable it was, but as the story unfolded in the second half I realized I was being tricked just the main character. Every time I thought I knew what the truth was, things got flipped upside down and I was questioning everything all over again.

This truly was a wild ride and I highly recommend you take your blood pressure meds before reading!

WHEW this book INFURIATED me. There's nothing that gets my goat more a woman not being believed. But I liked it very much, and I really wanted to get to the end. Def stayed up too late listening to it. Ooh it takes quite a storyteller to make me want to have a Spongebob-level freakout. Excited to read this author again.
