I usually love a good friends to lovers romance, but I never fully got into this one.
Freya and Mac’s friendship/relationship journey was so sweet but there were so many parts during the first half of the book that made me cringe.
However the groveling was top tier. And the cutesy happy ending saved me from lowering my rating anymore.

Loved, loved, loved this book! I'm not sure if it was only because of the amazing audio, duet narration, but the story these two provided was so entertaining. The banter, their constant fights and lets not forget 'the sex'. So funny and so rewarding at the end.

I love the "it's just sex no feelings" trope.
I kinda hate that her fave flowers are carnations. They're such a cheap basic flower and felt like a commentary on Freya's self worth.

How does a 30 year old women know nothing about sex. She literally calls it “The Sex”. Then the author tries to make it seem like she’s just super innocent but this girl is THIRTY. How are you 30 and asking people “if it hurts men the first time they have sex”.
Also the things she thinks while there playing never have I ever???
-“Never have I ever done reverse cowgirl!” Belle states next, holding her glass up proudly. The crowd cheers, and my eyes widen. Reverse cowgirl? Is that like a role-playing thing? Perhaps the girl dresses up like a cowboy and the boy dresses up like a cowgirl? Gender swapping? How modern!
- “Never have I ever given road head.” I have no clue what that one is. Road. Head. Hmmm. I imagine it’s something done on a road, but how does it involve your head?
She’s also very self-depreciating.

Oh my stars! I think this one has officially become my favorite out of all the books in this series! I laughed, I swooned and SO much more. This is a heartfelt friends to lovers romance that will keep you on your toes and dying for more. Daws has pure magic with Freya and Mac as they navigate the situations they put themselves in. I adored Freya and her quirks because they are so natural and adorable. Mac has you swooning but also ragey at times but you will absolutely love him.
Overall, I loved the interconnected characters from the Harrises but also the fluidity and the character build. Daws wrote something so stunning and beautiful, I couldn’t put it down! If you are a fan of this series, this book is SO for you! And if you are new to Daws, snag it up, read the heck out of it and go back for more!

Amy Daws is such a wonderful author. She takes you on a literary plot journey through her characters lives and it is fantastic. Her characters are quirky, flawed, human and filled with such personality that it's hard to believe they aren't real and you will suffer "bookhangovers" when you finish her books and have to return to reality.
This book made me laugh, cry, and have all the feels. I've read the Kindle version and I've listened to the audiobook because I loved this story so very much. Will Watt & Charlotte Cole voiced the characters amazingly!
Freya is one of my all time favorite characters ever mainly because she voices how I feel so often as a girl that's been a "Big Girl" or plus size my entire life. I love that Mack calls her "Cookie" and "his wee treasure".
