The most creepy and yet captivating horror Manga I've ever read. You just keep on reading..like traversing a spiral..

This series disturbed me like no other, but god did I ever love it.

Am I weary of spirals now? Maybe?

Am I weary of Snails now? Mhmm. I might be.

Did I want my kids to have a happy ending? Man, I really did...even though I knew it was impossible given the circumstances of the series.

Overall, I think this was one of my favourite reads of the last few books I've read. The story was engaging and I really grew to love Kirie and Shuichi to the point where I dreading reading the end because I knew it wasn't going to end well for them. The mystery behind the spiral curse never felt repetitive or boring because each story added more intrigue to the twisted and deranged nature of this curse and its effects it had on the citizens of the town. I don't think i'll ever get the image of Shuichi's dad in that container out of my head....ever.

Mr. Ito's art is absolutely gorgeous in the weirdest way that I was compelled, but at times I also felt sick looking at it (IM LOOKING AT YOU SNAIL PEOPLE) and I think that's a sign of a great horror artist and story teller. The ending sequence was heart breaking for Kirie and Shuichi when they realized that no matter how hard they fight they weren't going to escape this curse that has been placed on them and that their fate was always sealed no matter what they did.

I also have to mention my love for the art sequences that lead to the eye of the spiral - simply stunning. Its incredible how Mr. Ito was able to incorporate so many different spiral designs into one scene. Ingenious.

If you love horror stories with fantastic art that will leave your stomach feeling slightly queasy then this story is for you!

The snail parts consistently grossed me out. *cringe*

There's a lot in the third volume about human greed in times of tragedy. The artwork remained painstakingly detailed. Horror comics are probably never going to be my thing, but I get why this series was popular.

The final installment in the Uzumaki/Spiral trilogy. The wierdness continues, but goes into full force, so rather than incidents on individuals, it's the whole town that sucked into the craziness. Aid workers come in to the area to try and help, but then find themselves trapped, for there is no way out of town. Paths and roads seem to go in circles and take you back where you started, tunnels out of town never end, and whirlpools eat up anything that tries to escape via the sea. Macabre imagination, and some great artwork, with a bizarre but aptly fitting end to the story and the mystery of the spirals.

This has just beaten Saga(comic) and took the first place of the most disturbing book I've ever read. This is just so gross and so horrifying . I am somehow so in love with these creepy artworks. Although I don't quite get why these phenomenons happen, I still love it because that's the point, right? There's nothing to be understood, and I'm just here to be entertained and creeped out lol. My most favorite chapter is chapter 6 "Medusa", you know "the hair". I freaking love that chapter; the artwork was so beautifully creepy (do these words even go together?). And the chapter that almost make me throw up is probably chapter 11. Ugh; So grotesque. And Chapter 7, Jack in The Box? Ugh man I always hate that. Freaking Creepy!!!

After reading this, I'm now afraid of snails, butterflies, babies, long curly hair, holes, whirlpool, waves, storm, etc. Bruh! It was truly horrifying. Junji Ito's mind? Brilliant! how could anyone think like that?

I just wanna say that I'm very entertained, and I'm just hoping I'm not having a nightmare tonight! Also, Can't wait to read Tomie and other works by Ito!

ngl I was a little disappointed in this one.

Like honestly these people were dumb, the second that kid turned into a sail... Im gone. Why did they refuse to leave the town? Lit lost their house and job, people died in the town and they were infected AND YOU WANT TO STAY THERE. cap. my frustration with them made me not enjoy it.

The second the little brother was in danger. and she did nothing! nope. i could never.

anyways, still creepy, i just felt like the character's motivations were completely inexistent and zuichi... 0 energy.
