Holy moly. What a disturbingly sad roller coaster this was. I literally read it start to finish. Tried to put it down a few times and picked it right back up. When the story was over I threw it down like it was a snake in my hands. Sad, disgusting, heartbreaking, but what a story. This is one of those stories that you feel like you need to recover from. Prepare yourself.

What the heck did I just read??? This book blew my mind! Six year old Jenny Kristal walked down the street to play at her friends house and she was never seen again. The police investigated but they couldn’t find any clues and soon her case goes cold. Fast forward twelve years later and suddenly she’s back and it appears to be a miracle! Its immediately clear she had to deal with trauma and abuse while she was gone , but her parents are glad to have the family back together except her brother Ben he makes its known he doesn’t believe this is really Jenny something seems off . Immediately Jenny begins to receive emails informing her she’s not safe in the home, the more time she spends in the home Jenny begins to wonder if maybe her new found family are hiding some dark secrets. As we peel back the layers of the disappearance and dive into the family dynamic we begin to see the cracks they start out small and soon the floor begins to crumble! I was absolutely drawn in, the book was a rollercoaster of emotions. I do want to warn readers there were triggers of child abuse. This was an amazing thriller and be prepared to not be able to put this book down! Five stars! Available June 9th 2020!!

It was an interesting one for sure. I felt so confused most of the time. The ending was good in my opinion but it’s definitely not the best thing I’ve read. But it wasn’t bad either. I wish there was a little more suspense in it but overall it wasn’t bad.

3.5 round to 4.
Even though I came across this book by Tik Tok, i'm oddly satistifed I read it.
Slow paced thriller of a girl gone missing at 6 years old and came back at 18.
Not quite fanatic of different povs in 3rd person but it was entertaining. Not gonna lie, it was a bit boring at some points but its a good idea to spice up reading, not a total fan of the ending I think it could've been explored better but don't regret it.

While this book was very well written and thrilling unfortunately I did find it kind of predictable.
From the very beginning I could see where it was heading, except for the one last twist at the end.
I also found the very very ending a little unrealistic. I don’t know. I didn’t hate the book but it didn’t sit well with me.

If this book was a grand jury case it’d be a “oh no it’s the SVU DA, last case of the day, 100+ counts of cruelty to children in the first degree.”

This was heavily inspired by a true crime case that gained notoriety in the 90s. Even the MC's name was similar.
