2.5 stars or so i guess? i liked the portrayal of a … poly-ish relationship? but i do not think this was particularly correct or healthy.
also this book kind of burned me out in that i am truly exhausted in the fiction niche of “sad boring girl with nothing going for herself pines over poor love interest”

Gulped this down and am going to go right back for a reread. Astounded by the precision, interiority, depth, and psychological expansiveness of this story, and omg the sentence-level brilliance. About what we think we want and what we feel our way into despite not understanding why. The kind of book where I’m reading it and underlining whole pages, one paragraph at a time.

Literally if Sally Rooney wrote fifty shades of gray. Incredibly messy. I completely understand the criticisms of this book, but for me it worked - exploring questions of sex, morality, and the entrapment of obsession.

Some of the themes were intriguing, like power dynamics in non-monogamous relationships and what makes a relationship with someone fulfilling. But also a lot of the book just feels like sex and not much else happening, and then when something starts happening towards the end it trails off. It's fun overall I read it in two sittings

i liked the first portion of this book but the ending kind of fell flat for me and it got a bit slow towards the end. i think fishman is a great writer but i felt like the main focus of the book was nathan when she could have delved deeper into romi or olivia’s characters. i did like how each character was not morally good or bad and each character was pretty unlikeable in their own way.  overall i liked it but there was potential for it to be better.
