I really enjoyed this book. Dog person or not, this book was cute and enjoyable. It was a quick read, but had some surprises.

This is a nice book if you don't want to have to think at all. And I mean at all. The characters were ok, the dog sounded cute, the plot line was relatively simple. Thoroughly enjoyable.

I'm not even sure about the 3 stars but it's not as low as 2 so... I know that my reviews for the books that I rate with less than 4 stars are mainly based on negative points and sides of the book but I can't help it, I feel like I must write everything that bothered me during reading.
Here is what I don't like and why 3 stars:
1. This girl is not just messy, according to what was described, she is filthy. That definitely crosses the line of being sweet, if that was the point.
2. Half of the story is like copy/paste from Something borrowed not just similar
3. Alex is nice but he is tooooo soft
4. Peter is weakly developed character, like the author wasn't sure how it's going to end the story and made decisions during writing. He doesn't know what he wants.
5. Her relationship with the best friend...??
6. Many shallow dialogues
There were few good parts where I felt sorry for Van like the part when she called her old house 6 times to listen the message from her mother. When she was crying in the toilet. And other parts. I loved the dog. This story could be better, much better...

It was a little slow at first but as soon as I was a quarter way through I couldn't stop reading! I love books about dogs and Joe was just delightful, I've recently lost a best friend and turn to my dog just the way Van did to Joe. It has been put on my list of favourites!

Generally not a fan of romance novels, this book was saved by the wonderful interaction of Savannah, the main character, and the unexpected entrance into her life of Joe, a German Shephard.

This was billed as a romance and there is that element, but it's not really a traditional romance. Which is a good thing, frankly. I liked this a lot.
