An enjoyable book, if not an especially memorable one for me. In some ways, the first section of the story felt like a slightly different book than the one that takes off once the dog arrives in the story. Maybe the dog just brings a certain canine energy with him? In any case, I definitely enjoyed things more once the pooch was on the scene!

This was a really good read. I thoroughly enjoyed the heroine as well as the huge puppy she adopted. This is an interesting and compelling read.

This book was adorable. I loved it so so much and it made me cry at one point. I love how all her relationships changed throughout the book. Honestly it was realistic in most ways which I liked, it wasn't a sugar coated fairytale. I pick up this book at a warehouse sale and I'm so happy I grabbed it last minute because I loved this book.

Hope Allie Larkin writes another book. Didn't want to put this down until it was finished. Now I wished there was more.

Cute story about a girl and dog. With a little side story of being in love for six years with her best friend's boyfriend, turned fiance, turned husband. The dog doesn't speak English, costs more than she makes in a month or more, but helps her to find a new guy, the vet. All this coupled with leaving your past behind, starting your future but never forgetting where you came from. I was laughing outloud and cringing in sympathetic agony. Will be looking for more from this author!

Engaging from the start

Grabbed my attention from the start - I finished it in one day. Likable characters, whose flaws showed through enough to make them real. Funny and touching, and did not always follow the path I imagined it would (in a good way).

I really enjoyed the dog part of the story and the bond created between the dog and the heroine really portrayed what it is liked to love a dog. The heroine was at times too much of a basket case and you could anticipate a mile away what would go wrong. We did not get a lot into the personality of the hero which was a bit of a shame. Overall though I enjoyed the read, mostly because I am a sucker for stories involving dogs.

The cover of my book has a puppy on it! But I digress....

I finished reading this book in 3 days. It's not particularly thought-provoking or anything like that, but it makes you smile, it makes you frown and it makes you root for the main character so much. It's such an easy and entertaining read that I would recommend it to any one of my girlfriends. Loved it!!
