There's some interesting chapters and passages in this book but I found it was very meandering and not particularly well organised. It was also very narrow in scope and would occasionally mention something that would have made an interesting discussion but not delve into it in any meaningful way. Unfortunately the parts I did like were partially overshadowed by the book mainly focusing on rich white able bodied people in England, the US and France and not really considering many other perspectives. In particular, I felt that disability was ignored and anything that wasn't walking with feet was treated as lesser.
