Crazy Dangerous made me happy reading it from the beginning and won me over thanks to its main characters, Sam and Jennifer.
The story is told in alternating voices of these two. I can't remember the last time I've read a YA book with a voice so crystal clear and genuine as Sam's. He's a character so wonderfully mischievous and cute and real. He has no supernatural powers, he's not super-hot and mysterious and brooding. He's your regular next-door 16-year old kid who gets into trouble. Jennifer on the other hand is broken and haunted. Her visions make for a chilling and nightmarish reading experience.
When they get together, it's not an explosion of hormones. Another big plus for this book is that there's no sizzling romance. The relationship between Sam and Jennifer develops as a sort of friendship. Jennifer is not exactly a person to chat with over coffee. If I tell anything about her condition, it might spoil the book. But in the end, it all makes very much sense.
The ending...I wish it followed the path that was set from the beginning of the story. It takes a leap of faith, so to say, as some things are revealed. Crazy Dangerous is religiously colored, particularly in the last third of the book. I'm not a religious person (but that doesn't affect my opinion of the book.). I got the not-so-subtle hints (guy in the truck). Still, I felt like these details were in discordance with what was previously established, and that was something very logical and rational.
Crazy Dangerous has its moments of hilariousness and creepiness, and a wonderful main character. Despite the little bump toward the end, mainly because of different views, I would still highly recommend this book for many reasons: not a single YA cliche in sight, a male POV, thoroughly frightening psychological insight, excellent narration and well-developed characters.

Fue una historia entretenida y me agradó bastante la forma en la que estaba escrito.

Thoughtful moral and social commentary with lots of interesting twists. My character allegiances switched as often as Sam's loyalty. Easy, entertaining, and exciting read!
I tend to love everything that Nick Podehl reads the audios for, so...maybe it's just him, or maybe he picks good things. ;)
Anyways, for most of this book, I loved it. I loved the characters, especially the main character. (I didn't like his "school girl crush" Zoey, because we didn't get to know her, but, I really liked the people I did get to know. It was funny, sometimes touching, unique. There was one part of the book that really annoyed me (near the end, how the main character was dealing with the main problem and how the characters were reacting didn't feel realistic to me, especially in a post 911 world-BUT I'm not entirely sure when this book was written, but I'm guessing it was after 911 as that was quite a while ago now). But other than that, I loved pretty much every moment of this book. Which is a little bit impressive, since it was also a little bit religious, and usually, those books really rub me the wrong way. I'd love a sequel here, it's a pretty short book, and I think these characters have more to tell and experience.

I really liked this book. The characters were memorable, and the story was well written. I think this is a good book that keeps you interested to see what is really going on. It ended well, and I finished it in 2 days.

Sam is courageous, smart and wants to be free of the father is priest image. I see Sam as a great character in the making but I think he has lack of judgment on the things going on around him, I can say that he do stupid things. Sam wanted to get out of the preacher’s image and decided join a notorious group and that’s when the DANGEROUS things happen. Jennifer’s character is very unstable throughout the whole book which makes you doubt and of her mental ability which where the CRAZY fits in. Jennifer hears things. Things she can’t see things that haunts her during the night. Both character met in a very unconventional way and that started the whole CRAZY DANGEROUS business.
The book was a great mysterious thriller. I keep asking many question throughout the whole book which was answered in the ending. I commend the author for this thrilling novel. It had me on the conclusion; I was constantly frustrated on what is actually happening on the story. I was really horrified by the ending; I was not expecting it which was a big plus throughout my opinion of the book. It had me asking questions and got my answered in the riveting ending. I could not ask for a better ending after that.
All in all I recommend this novel for people who are looking for a mystery/thriller/psychological read. I was bored and intrigued with the start. The main character Sam is brave but lacks judgment but it saves him in the end. The psychological aspect of this book was of commended because of the ending. The author did a great job on writing this novel.

This was a fairly fast moving teen level book that I enjoyed as an adult. It follows teen Sam Hopkins' journey through several bad choices and there consequences which then lead him to save the girl and the day! The first part of the book seemed a bit unrealistic to me, as the "bad" gang at school quickly does an about face and, rather than beating him up, takes him into their group, shows him where they stash cars and teach him how to steal cars as well. There is some violence in this book, as he is beaten up several times and someone in the book is murdered. However it does use these situations as teaching moments to make good choices. It was a good read with a fairly surprising ending!
I recieved a copy of the book from the publisher in exchanger for my honest review.

I consumed this in audio format, and it was addictive! Written in a surprising style, I was impressed in its dual attraction, both for adults, and for teens (though its certainly not a childrens' book!)
I finished this book in under 24 hours. It was spectacular! I could not put it down!
