The ending had my jaw on the floor.
Holy shit, that was something unexpected.
This book took me through twists and turns I could not even think of. The romance and the banter was amazing but I loved that I was easily able to get back into the world after it being months since I finished Powerless.

I don't know where to begin. I liked this book, but not enough to say it was another favorite or something to keep on the shelf. The cons: he was basically chasing her and loving her but hating her at the same time while wanting her throughout the entire book. See where I am going with this? They were running away from each other the whole time; while, having conflicted feelings and intimate scenes, then going back to hating each other. It was a book of Bipolar if I've ever seen one. Another thing was the writing. I felt like it was an easy read, but too easy. The plot was simple, get her back to the King, but it was too character based. Making me feel like the author, Lauren Roberts, lost sight of the plot. The last con is the scenes where Kitt told the story. I felt like there wasn't much giving in his perspective other than his greif for his father. We got it after the fifth time it was explained. The pros: I appreciated the scenes with Kai and Paedyn. They were a sort of intimate that was appropriate but made you feel something. Making me mad at the way the ending landed. Other than that, there was nothing else about the book that made it good. I feel more negatives than positives were riding off this. I am not sure I would recommend this book, though it makes you want to read the unreleased to see what happens between the three.

That's a whole lotta words for literally nothing to happen. I could've written the same book in just three words: sand and angst.

I don’t really know what to make of the ending. Kind of odd. Overall though, I think this could’ve been condensed into 150 pages and combined with the next book. I get the “side quest” complaints and think this may have been better as a duology instead of a trilogy.

Book 2 leaves off exactly where book one ends. With Paedyn on the run, and Kai on the hunt. Follow along as they try to hate each other with all they are and deny the love that had grown.

I didn’t love this book as much as I loved the first book, but it was still very enjoyable!

Per usual, Kai had be giggling and kicking my feet. I love that man!
