had some good points! but as he started saying how people should dress I gave up. He takes things too far in my opinion.

This book was so fun to read. First book I ever read by a therapist, and it was heavy. For such a short book it took me forever to read. I learned so many things about myself and other's that I never would have without reading it. This book has a huge amount of knowledge. I think everyone would benefit from reading it.

Really good read, the author makes some really resonating points that hit home. I also liked that he wrote the book in a way that you’d expect a friend to talk to you when asking for advice which made the points come across in a much better way. Undertones throughout the book of self awareness and being in touch with emotions. My only issue was it was written for a Heterosexual male which is fine but some of the chapters I thought just didn’t resonate with me fully but I understood the aims. All in all great read

On a scale of cotton candy to Brussels sprouts, I Used To Be A Miserable F*ck by John Kim is a shot of whisky. Distilled and aged from his very own heartwood, one shot has your throat burning and your eyes watering with new insights. It's like a smack for your tastebuds.
Touted as an everyman's guide to a meaningful life, I Used To Be A Miserable F*ck by John Kim lays out in quick chapters lessons he learned from his early failures. Every chapter is short and to the point. John Kim covers self-mastery, dating, relationships, work, communication, and so much more. He even has one chapter on skinny jeans.
I follow The Angry Therapist (John Kim) on Instagram, and his thoughtful posts always have me double-tapping. When my sister read his book, I wanted to read it too. While it's clear the John Kim is writing to men specifically, I think this book definitely brings pointers to the table for every human. I had more than a few moments of thoughtful self-reflection.
If you enjoy self-mastery books that are to the point, I Used To Be A Miserable F*ck is for you!

I reminded of someone telling me to take what you want/need, and leave the rest. So the simple straightforward encouragement that I took away from the book, I really liked.
