This book is so cute, I love the art and the way the characters grew through the story. I would recommend this to anyone who loves adventure and magic in their stories.

This was a 4.5-rounded-up.
A sweet charming story of a goblin witch and her friends. Beetle is a great main character, she's funny, kind, passionate, loyal, and friend to those in need.
Her grandmother was a hoot and I wish she was in the story more.
How she befriends and sticks by Blob Ghost is endearing and I'm sure we all want a friendship like that.
Her friendship and maybe something more with Kat was adorable, they set up a solid friendship between them and you could feel the past connections with them.
There were a few things lacking for why the villain was doing what they did. A tiny bit of dialogue or backstory might have cleared that up. And some moments that weren't fully explained well, but they were few so it was ok.
This is perfect for the spooky season and probably all year round.

Really wonderful graphic novel for tweens and teens. With a similar feel to Disney's Owl House, this book features a queer lead, fun magic and intriguing worldbuilding. While the story is mostly self contained, I could see this spinning off into a series. There is a lot to explore here and I think my only main complaint is that the book wrapped up so quickly that we weren't really able to sit with a lot of the story very long. I still have so many questions and I want to be with these characters even more, particularly Blob Ghost whose background still remains a little murky. Readable and compelling and sweet this is a great read for kiddos who want a little magic in their lives.

⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 for this magic-packed graphic novel. Beetle is a homeschooled goblin-witch who prefers to spend her days at the mall with her best friend Ghost Blob. When she finds out that her former best friend’s aunt, a sorceress, is demolishing the mail as part of an evil revenge scheme, she realizes she has one week to save Ghost Blob. Fun and quirky - recommended for fantasy fans in grades 5-8.

Adorable graphic about power and the awkwardness of teenage love. Also, a Blob Ghost.
