It had promise but the character development was weak.

I really liked this story, the character building, the plot, and everything that went with it EXCEPT for the END! Lately, every single good book I have read has had a darn cliffhanger and you know what they infuriate me. Now to the great parts of the book. I loved the H/H they were adorable and I love me a broken millionaire. Although you could not see until the end that he was broken, I loved Kara and I just wanted to hug Simon. I will read the rest of the series because I want to know what happened.

Not a standalone. Alpha billionaire Simon Hudson has been watching Kara secretly for over year. So the first introduction to Simon makes him seem kind of creepy. He’s extremely rich and doesn’t have a lot of confidence in his attractiveness because of some scars and because he is use to women liking him only because of his money. Kara find herself in a bind and Simon is right there to offer assistance. Kara is upbeat and I thought they made a good team.

Simon is very sweet, but he's also a stalker and creepy. He follows Kara everyday from his apartment to hers' without being seen by her because he wants to make sure that she gets home safe. (Sweet but creepy!) Kara agrees to stay with him for a few months, agrees to 'borrow' a large amount of money and accepts luxurious things because he said he wants to help her and Kara trusts him because he is her bosses son. It's absurd that she accepts this preposition, what with her being so careful and all, but overall it was a lovely, pleasant book.

I was thrown off by all the five star reviews... the story abruptly ends during a random chapter and prompts you to buy the next book in the series (also, i was under the impression that a series is a set of connecting books that have the same plot line, but each imdividual book has a set ending, not jist BAM *chapter break: book is over*). I'd be more inclined to buy the next book if this wasn't an obvious ploy for the greedy author to get more money, I'll just google how the series ends.
