Angela Marsons keeps at with book #20. A murder brings them into the world of child pageants. Which leads to a few interesting conversations around sexism. A separate storyline is an accidental death of a man that peaks Tiffs radar and leads to an investigation. All while they are trying to find a talent for a police talent show.

I was given a copy by NetGalley. Opinions are my own.

My favourite series ever and Kim is my favourite detective but this one wasn’t a stand out. As with every book in the series this was immensely readable and moved at a super fast pace however I did find the central case in this a little bit far fetched, particularly the shoving of the false teeth etc down victims’ throats. I also missed getting any further developments on the team’s private lives but all in all I love these characters so much that I was just happy to be back in their World.

Another 3 stars from me unfortunately- the last few seem to have gone off the boil somewhat. I like the characters but don’t know if that is enough to keep going with the series.

Oh wow, this book was bloody brilliant I loved every minute of reading it. I really enjoy the Kim Stone stories and even after 20 books in the series it’s not getting old and stale. Angela Marsons knows how to suck the reader in and keep them engaged until the end. This is the type of book that keeps me up reading very late into the night saying to myself, just one more chapter, just one more chapter! Six chapters later I try to sleep. This books deserves 5 stars, I really enjoyed it. Highly recommend this author and the whole series.

I've been a long time fan of this series and have loved most books, but this one just didn't quite live up to previous instalments for me.

The story was interesting enough but it didn't feel quite as neat as others. There were a couple of plot points which seemed to sort of fizzle out and not get resolved.

Also, it's a British author writing about British characters in Britain....so why use the word MOM?! They're our Mum or Mam. It drove me insane by the end.
