Not so much a brief history of humankind as it is a random collection of interesting observations lacking a thesis.

This follows humanity from our first emergence as a new species to our potential future as some sort of unknown post-human species. Well written, readable, and thorough. Recommended.

You may not agree with some of his perspectives and arguments, but they are guaranteed to make you think, and often you would find it difficult to combat them. Here is a historian who is ready to challenge some of our most established beliefs, but not because he believes in the opposite ideology, but because he sees all such cultural artifacts with equal skepticism and detachment. This book can expand anyone's intellectual horizon. I am glad I read it!

I really liked it, I’ve seen that some people complain that it’s not detailed enough but there’s a reason it’s called “a BRIEF history of humankind”. It has tought me a little about a lot and motivated me to further research certain topics.
Honestly I think everyone could learn something from this book and it should be on every bookshelf

Quite interesting but struggled to get through some parts. Will keep to look back at, found some concepts very enlightening if slightly demoralising! Have to read it to understand what I mean!

god i never thought i would actually finish this.
it's a great book but i 100% would never read it physically and already forgot some chapters.

most of this is really interesting, just some chapters are quite boring like "the scent of money", "the secret of success" and "the capitalist creed" (i hate economics).
