This was great. Peter really does as good a job as Johns on Green Lantern.
This is the story of Guy and John teaming up and trying to find out what happened to a whole planet of dead aliens. What they find is something far more dangerous than either have expected and they come full on to take out the Green Lantern. This is a action packed volume with huge fights, emotion, and great surprises.
To be honest I was worried Peter would have lost some of his edge by now in writing Green Lantern but he's back with a vengeance. Detailing a awesome story with sicko bad guys and great chemistry with the cast. Guy and John have never been more likable in my opinion and the fights and a huge twist on the story line and last issue made this extremely enjoyable.
While a bit too wordy at times it hit all the right levels for me. A 4.5 out of 5.

Green Lantern Corps Volume 1 collects issues #1 - #7 of Green Lantern Corps.
Considering that the Green Lantern Corps are the group that I know the least about (I do not count the movie), I found it very easy to understand that was going on and why what was occurring had occurred.
The storyline follows Guy Gardner and John Stewart as they face off against the Keepers, a new alien race that no-one knew existed. A tad predictable a times ruined it for me, although there were moments where what happened was not what I expected.
The art style was what I expected from a space-based comic. I just wish that their had been more panels that made me go wow as space always does.
Since I have not read many other Green Lantern stories, I do not know how this one stacks up against them but I would still recommend Fearsome to most people.

A war story with several characters committing war crimes and acts of torture throughout. This was VERY* jarring to read since I usually enjoy Tomasi’s writing and the Green Lantern Corp cast doesn’t behave this aggressively. It would have been interesting to hear them acknowledge they’re behaving differently, but the writer portrays this as just any other GL story, robbing the story of any interesting character work we could have had from exploring their reactions to genocide. Combine this with the cheesy, macho-man dialogue and the fact that the world is much more aware now of police brutality, and you get a story that feels dated in all the worst ways.
This was interesting but it got lost in its own shuffle. I miss the Corps characters from the pre-New 52 era already and it's only been one volume. None of the new characters are that great and I feel like there's just too much death in superhero comics these days.
Not the most amazing Green Lantern arc by far, but definitely worth a read. Perhaps a 'borrow' and not a 'buy'. Still way better than Green Lantern: New Guardians. Seems to lack depth in character profiles and relies too much on stereotypes of the characters as they may have appeared in previous volumes, as written by different authors.
I've always been a little indifferent to the Corps, but I found this new iteration to be both chaotic and dull.

Damn it! Why is DC satisfied turning out absolute dreck (aka New 52). It's good stories like this one that makes it worse, because it constantly reminds readers what it is that is being betrayed with each issue of the other titles. We are way overdue for a Crisis.
While Guy Gardner is overwhelmingly annoying this was another good Lantern book. Creating a worthy villain for the Green Lantern Corps isn't easy but Bedard does a terrific job. There are some phenomenal scenes that add to the grand nature of what was happening. John Stewart is prepped for another heart-wrenching arc and I'm all for it. The art was very good by all the artists. Overall, a very good Lantern read.
I love Green Lantern, he has quickly become one of my favorite super heroes. I’ve always liked reading about Hal Jordan and his adventures. From time to time his book crosses over with the Green Lantern Corps title. Normally I only read those story lines that cross over, but with things starting over with The New 52, I figured I would give this a shot. I am so glad I did.
This series revolves around all the Green Lanterns throughout the Universe, but at the forefront is two of the Green Lanterns from Earth, Guy Gardner, and John Stewart. I have never really liked Guy Gardner because he was always arrogant and a show off. Not the kind of personality I care to read about when it comes to my superheroes. Reading this book I see that a lot has happened to Guy Gardner and he has calmed down quite a bit. The characters are written well and I think this series is one I will be following closely.
In this story we find a new breed of villain attacking the Green Lanterns. These villains can defend against the will power of the green ring and dish it out themselves. They are powerful and running through as many Lanterns as they can till they get to OA to take the central power battery. The mystery of these new foes is what really makes this book interesting.
About midway through this story Guy and John as well as a good bit of the Corps is divided against these attackers. We get to see how each character deals with their unique situation. This really gives a good look into each of the main characters. There are some tough decisions to be made by each, and the extent of their emotions and character are tested. With all that is going on we get to see a glimpse into the guardians of the universe also. These are the creators of the Green Lantern Corps and it seems like they are up to something only they know about. Possible foreshadowing for later issues maybe???
I really liked this story and I already have the next graphic novel in the series. I can’t wait to see what trials John Stewart and Guy Gardner will face with the rest of the Corps. I am officially hooked on this series. I have enjoyed catching up on all the heroes I have missed since I stopped buying weekly issues.

Tons of action in this one. Would have liked to see some more creative use of the rings rather than just blasting or making big weapons that blast green rays. Especially when the enemy in this case, was resistant to that stuff. Did like the touching ending. Liked the old guys a lot too.
