4.5⭐️ just stunning. I am thrilled to have finally read my first Ann Radcliffe, a pioneer of the gothic novel. Reading her gorgeous writing rich with emotion was a pleasure, and I can’t wait to read more from her.

I mostly read this coz the heroine’s my namesake. I thought it weird I shared a name with someone so goodly and in such a painful situation. I dunno. I feel like I’m in a weird place in life. Adeline’s goodness of heart saw her through to the other side. And I dunno where exactly I am.
Why the fuck do I know nothing about my own head.
The ending of this book though. The fact that the book ends with them settling on the banks of Lake Geneva. My phone’s wallpaper is this picture of my shoes in the foreground and in the background? The Alps and Lake Geneva.
Coincidence? That’s jo-incidence with a C.
