interesting for sure!! audiobook was great. weird mix of fashion history, personal memoir, and gossip that isn’t what i expected but was rlly engaging. i wanted more info about the specifics of his rise to fame but hoping maybe that’s in the first memoir? either way fun and v strong voice

Get ready to bone up on your French and your fashion because Talley makes no stops. He's elegant in his prose and magnificent in his years of knowledge.

Lacking any depth, and an extremely superficial account of his life. When paired with the egoism, I could not finish.

Listening to ALT himself read this book - or rather, tell you his stories - is a special treat.

This memoir was a raw, emotional and detailing of his life, which I found both inspiring and very informative.

As a young black woman, to see the journey he took from the segregated South and descriptions of America from the 50s to 90s, was a sadly familiar one.
I also found the ins and outs of the fashion industry both informative and fascinating. An easy 5 star.
