Thank you Valentine pr and Monica for sending me this book!!
It’s a given I have been obsessed with Monica Murphy books since I discovered her this year. This series no less! In this book, I came to love and enjoy more of charlotte’s character. She honestly carried this book. I feel like she grew more into her self and it was so nice to read about but she still has a long way to go! Perry was having some serious inner conflict. Going from trying to believe charlotte to not knowing what to believe? He was very much chaotic but I’m excited to see how he will get his act together in the next. The smut?!! Amazing! You get to see more of their internal monologues/inner conflict and pov which was entertaining and just added more depths to their characters
However, from a personal preference I more so like it when a book with a marriage of convenience/arranged marriage trope to have more of a longer timeline. I prefer for these kind of books to span over a longer period of time just because I think we can see more of a relationship development. This book picks up right where the last one ended which was the day of the wedding and it spans over a period of two weeks I believe (don’t quote me on that). This is the only thing I wish was different because with this pace, I don’t think we will see more of them as I married couple even in the last book. Just a personal preference!
That being said, I’m excited for the third and final book ans see how Charlottes and Perry’s relationship conclude!
Tropes:
Arranged marriage/convenience
Forced proximity
Strangers to lovers
Dark Romance

Oh boy. That cliffy hurts. Can't wait to get the final installation of this story.
I really enjoyed the progression of Charlotte and Perry's relationship. The first half of the story takes place on their honeymoon and it was nice to see just the two of them with little outside interference. Gradually you can see them starting to build trust, though it still feels like there are some secret bombshells that are about to be dropped on us. These two are just so suited for each other and I love watching Perry become sentimental.

I wasted no time opening the book up once it hit my Kindle. I had to know what happened. Perry and Charlotte’s story is what I needed to keep me out of a reading slump. For me, it hits just right on every point. Character building, steam, and story development. I love the protectiveness of Perry and seeing both of their walls slowly coming down. Them growing and learning how to trust each other. Their relationship always leaves me wanting more. This book has a lot more steam and I am here for it. (Hell to the Yes!) So glad I don’t have to leave this world just yet. I can’t wait for book 3.

4.5 stars!
Wow Monica has done it again! This slow burn modern arranged marriage is getting started (and steamy!) I love the charactor development of Perry in this 2nd book of the trilogy. We are finally getting a further look into Perry life and what makes him tick along with his repressed feelings for Charlotte starting to come to the surface. I cannot wait to read the conclusion of the story next!

The fact that I know that this is a trilogy only makes it just a TINY bit better with how this one ended. Like the first book in the series, you are left with your jaw dropped and dying for more. But oh what a sweet sweet pain it is to wait and anticipate what will come. I devoured this book. Down right inhaled word for word everything that happened within these pages. Intense, passionate, twisty and all the other goodness that comes with this story, I LIVED for Charlotte and Perry. Their connection, even though they fight it, is pure magic. I loved their banter, the push and pull and their passion that they love to deny for each other. There is a lot that happens within this story that leads up to the next book and I am DYING to get my hands on it. I seriously feel like a mess after reading the story and writing a review would not do it justice. Read this series. You need it. The twists, the turns, the sizzle. EVERYTHING.

The FMC is so naive and weak, it's hard to read. While I love a morally-gray MMC, this one is just too rude to listen to. Couldn't finish!
