Lovely mythical story of an old couple who is blessed after having saved a crane…until the old adage about curiosity proves true.

A very cute story that does end rather abruptly, but love the artwork.

Beautifully bittersweet. One of those stories that leaves you wishing things turned out differently, yet loving what you read anyhow.

This book was gifted to my mother in 1970 and to this day, I cherish the story she passed down to me. I'm not sure I truly understood it back then, but it stayed with, and fascinated, me regardless for many years.
