This is a very short read, but the simplicity of this book is deceiving; I think the story will stay with me for quite a while.

A short but moving story of a young Syrian refugee girl.

Heartbreaking and perfect. Few words, just emptiness.

How can something so short with so few words be this powerful? Something so simple be this haunting? What a mini masterpiece Zenobia is, a need for anyone who wishes to get a tiny glimpse into what it's like as an innocent, civilian child caught up in a war.

A quick, rough read. I found it in the children's section but probably wouldn't give it to a child. There is no introduction, epilogue, or reference to help them frame what is happening or know how to respond. It's a bleak topic even as an adult aware of the context.

Utterly heartbreaking, but a much needed story of the trials and hardships even children face while living life as a refugee.
