It is so difficult for me to put words to this book. It made me feel so many things. It touched my heart and soul. #Zenobia was once a great warrior queen of Syria. Amina thinks of her often as she begins her journey as a #refugee which is the focus of the book. I still don’t understand how a book I read in a short 30mins can hit me so hard. Books help us empathize and see into other lives that are not our own. Our children/students need to know that this book is a reality. Don’t just read this book but share it. Share it with everyone you know.

A very quick read, if you only read the words, but an exceptionally long story if you let yourself fall into the whole thing. Had me all teared up at the end. Compelling and heartbreaking.

Well, this graphic novel ripped my heart out in about 10 minutes. It’s under 100 pages and uses mostly illustrations to tell a heart wrenching and powerful story of a young girl fleeing Syria. It will take you longer to recover from the story than to actually get through the book. So, so good and incredibly piercing. Beautiful illustrations.

3.5 Stars, it was very interesting. I feel like it’s a little abstract in a way. The story is kind of vague, the art style is really beautiful though.
As people have mentioned, it is a sad graphic novel.

Interesante reflexión sobre la vida de una niña en la guerra tratando de escapar, más forzada a escapar a decir verdad, pero que al final encuentra su libertad.
