I thought it was a great book and it entertained me. I desperately want to see Eleanore get freed. I kinda hoped for more fantasy. One key thing to note is the trigger warnings. There is a TON of dark stuff and if you can’t read that this book isn’t for you. The reviews almost scared me off reading this book. I will 100% be reading the next.

This book is not for the faint of heart. It's extremely triggering with lots of dark topics. Please do not go into this lightly.
Now that we've addressed that, if you're looking for a traumatic fantasy romance with no HEA, this is the book for you. It's rough. Our main character is abused in almost every way imaginable throughout the entirety of this story. And still, she tries to see the bright side of things. The resilience that she shows throughout all of this is inspiring. Now, if the majority of the book wasn't traumatic or heartbreaking enough for you, just wait till the end. Celaena will have you on the floor sobbing... I'm still not okay.

Extremely word heavy. Lots of unnecessary information that seems unrelated. Really dragged on. Great concept but every character seemed the exact same.

This book was intriguing from start to finish. This book does have several dark moments of SA and then the continued mentioning of that even throughout the story so please check the trigger warning before reading. Nora has been treated as nothing but property by her father who only wants to pawn her off as another persons property for his own gain. Nora has by no means had and easy life and it seems to have more dark moments with only splashes of light. This book pulls you in with the hints at not only her past but the possible future. She is a fighter though even when she is told to not fight she can't help but push harder. I am interested to see the down fall of a certain character but will not say as to not have any spoilers.

This books doesn’t flow well. There are missing blocks of information that are too big. The characters seem to have fallen in love in two minutes, which can be fine, but there are too many unforgivables happening one after another. The brother being a second love interest can be fine, but it isn’t presented or written well.
The whole book isn’t written well for how thick of a plot with as many holes as there are here. I don’t feel like it’s keeping my interest and the FMC isn’t as strong or interesting as I’d expected. The plot is lead by things that happen to her rather than her actions / coherent thoughts. It’s really jumpy to me and honestly hard to follow.

ARC review
Wow. This book was a journey. It was rough to read, of course. Poor Elaenor is put through it and it's quite tragic to watch unfold. This book has Game of Thrones vibes, very grimdark. However, I still loved this book! It was a great story from beginning to end and has some major jaw dropping moments, especially toward the end.
I've never seen a lovers to enemies book before and I would love to read more of that in the future. Check the trigger warnings for this one if you plan to read it! Everything bad that can happen to poor Elaenor does.
I cannot wait to get my hands on book two! That ending was so crazy and this book was amazing.

THIS. BOOK! THIS DAMN BOOK!
I couldn't put it down, I was sad, I was happy, I was horrified, I was heartbroken, I am not okay! I feel genuinely privileged to be able to say I read this book as an arc. Please read the trigger warnings at the start of the book before heading into this, this book is DARK and graphic and not suitable for anyone with certain triggers.
“You will find peace there. You just have to believe it. Believe in him. He may surprise you.”
Glass and Bone follows Eleanor, princess of Chatis as she navigates a new life as Queen of Noterra for an arranged marriage with Tobias, Prince of Noterra. While navigating this part of her life, her life is changed forever and she must decide whether to follow her heart or stay alive.
I have stared at a blank text box for way too long when figuring out what to write in this review. Glass and Bone knocked the air out of my lungs on so many occasions. I didn't have any words to describe the feelings I felt when reading this book aside from earth-shattering.
Nora is one hell of a woman. She is absolutely inspirational. Celaena Cuico does an absolutely fantastic job of portraying the effects of trauma and abuse in their most subtle ways. The character development that Nora went through in this short book was insane, she went from quiet and sheltered to a fucking QUEEN! I love her and I can't wait to read more of her in the next book.
Celaena Cuico absolutely mastered the pacing of this book, no page felt like filler, every single word felt intentional and I was on the edge of my seat, holding my breath for about 70% of this book. The twists and turns really give you whiplash in the best possible way. I cried, I laughed, I felt the full five stages of grief.
The world building in this is just *chef's kiss*, the atmosphere created is beautiful and haunting. I don't have a problem imagining worlds, but when they're done well and I can vividly see the world, that's an automatic win for me.
I can't end this review without talking about the ending. The ending that ripped me in two, tore out my heart, threw it on the ground and stomped on it. I'm not okay. I didn't see it coming at all.

THAT ENDING!!!!!! I need the next book.
I really liked this book, however, I docked a star for the continuing rape scenes. Lots of trigger warnings, are in the beginning.
