Wow wow wow! This book!!!! Every time I picked this book up, it was hard to put it down, like staying up reading in the middle of the night before work hard to put down. It truly was breathtaking. The writing is so beautiful, but also feels so real and raw. The way love is explained is the truest version I have ever seen. Second chance and childhood friends to lovers are my favorite tropes, so of course I was going to love this book, but I didn’t expect the journey it took me on. I laughed, I cried, and I got full body chills. It had so many beautiful elements and I am so happy to have read this book and am already looking forward to rereading it! A MASTERPIECE!

“Split-second moments change the trajectory of our entire lives. We often don’t realize how impactful the moment is until much later.”

let me just say how BADLY i wanted to love this book. it started off great and i was giggling and kicking my feet. i’m all for the the guy being secretly obsessed.
unfortunately, it just didn’t get there for me. i don’t think there was enough angst or tension that i usually go for. also don’t even get me started that over 50% was them in HIGH SCHOOL.
the second chance almost came to easy….and while it was kinda sad , i felt like it was missing something.
it was still a cute quick read.

This book was utter perfection.

The build up of Jake and Leah’s relationship from lifelong friends to lovers was wonderful. The climax of the story was heartbreakingly beautiful. It had been a while since a book made me cry that hard. Jake and Leah’s reunion years later, albeit a little weird/awkward, made me smile again. I did find it weird that Leah straight up just took a bath in Jake’s apartment. Like, I know you’ve known him a long time, and he did say make yourself at home, but damn, she really took that to heart.

The epilogue was cute and cheesy. I do wish we would have gotten some update about Cole, but it wasn’t a big deal that we didn’t.

I really only read this book just so I could read the return policy. I disliked the fmc her reasoning for their breakup was stupid. Like yes y’all were grieving yet that’s also not a reason to let that grief dictate your life. Y’all were together before the accident, why can’t y’all still be together after the accident huh???? That’s all.
