I received a bag of romance books to read and so that would be why I read this book. But now I’m wondering what the fuck I just read 😬. I guess for some people it might be a kink to read about an abusive relationship, but that is definitely not for me. The possessiveness and the portrayal of him being bipolar felt like a broad stroke that people with mental illness are toxic. That along with the woman just completely giving in and letting someone treat her badly just did not do it for me. I kept hoping there will be some redemption and going to therapy and all sorts of helpful things, but that never happened so this is not really the series for me! I need them to make each other better for me to root for the happily ever after.
