A very quick read that gives a great overview of where we’ve come from, where we are now, and the political roots of the current state of the NHS. Gives hope to a junior doctor who cares very much and is struggling to fight a failing system that it doesn’t have to be this way, and reaffirms why healthcare as a human right is always worth fighting for. Also a wonderful love letter to General Practice as it should be, possibly the most important branch of medicine if it is possible to pick one, but sadly an area of the NHS that has been undervalued and degraded to the point of collapse.

fully agree with the message of this book, and it provides some fantastic insight into the current reality of the NHS as well as many practical ideas for improvement. its also a beautiful homage to the ideals of the NHS.

slight points off because it felt a bit meandering at times, but it's mostly excellent and well worth a read.
