Not sure if I didn't enjoy this one as much because I've never been to Australia and probably missed out on a lot of jokes or if this particular Pratchett just wasn't a great read during the pandemic, its meandering and weird storyline annoyed me more than it amused me. I'm only not an overly big fan of Rincewind or the Wizards and this one was just a bit too much. The Librarian was also sick, which made me sad. Parts of it were indeed funny, especially Death visiting Rincewind. Maybe I should reread it and not during a global pandemic. But the NO WORRIES message was great!

Quotes (I like):

"Don't go digging things up in case they won't let you bury them again." (27)

"A man sits in some museum somewhere and writes a harmless book about political economy and suddenly thousands of people who haven't read it are dying because the ones who did haven't got the joke. Knowledge is dangerous, which is why governments often clamp down on people who can think above a certain calibre." (30)

"This was the kind of country where, if you watched a large cliff for a few hundred years, you might see a rock drop off and you'd talk about it for ages." (77)
" ' We put all our politicians in prison as soon as they're elected. Don't you?'
'Why?'
'It saves time.'" (353)

A solid entry into the Discworld Series. Though some of the Australian references now feel a little dated, it is as funny a read as any of his books.

Another great Rincewind adventure.
